Sin in the House?Posted: September 12, 2013
~Wisdom from Oswald Chambers~
God engineers circumstances to see what we will do. Will we be the children of our Father in heaven, or will we go back again to the meaner, common-sense attitude? Will we stake all and stand true to Him? “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” The crown of life means I shall see that my Lord has got the victory after all, even in me.

I still hear a lot of preaching going on today about sin… Do you? I must say it takes quite sometime for some of us to get over being a sinner, especially when we are being reminded of it from the pulpit all the time. I am not saying we are not sinners while we are in this physical world where sin abounds.. I am saying, the Power of Sin over us as been conquered and “Sin” holds no claims on God’s children any longer. ..Does this idea sound strange to you??
There are many verses in the Scriptures that tell us, the power of sin has been destroyed. Why we don’t hear them more often than we do, I cannot answer… Can you? Maybe it’s because we just do not understand what happened that Day as Jesus hung on the “Cross“.. You may want to follow the link and get new perspectives on the cross, that most Christians are not aware of…??
Let’s just “explore” a few verses… There are many more and I hope you will be curious enough to look for them on your own!!
So there is now no condemnation awaiting those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 For the power of the life-giving Spirit—and this power is mine through Christ Jesus—has freed me from the vicious circle of sin and death. 3 We aren’t saved from sin’s grasp by knowing the commandments of God because we can’t and don’t keep them, but God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours—except that ours are sinful—and destroyed sin’s control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins.
Romans 8:1-3 –Living Bible (TLB)
Now, let me say this again and make sure you understand.. I am not saying we are not sinners. These verses above are not saying we are not sinners. Verse 3 even says; We can’t and don’t keep God’s commandments even though we know them… Isn’t that true? What I am saying and what I want you to know is this: “God knows we cannot keep His commandment too!” God never intended for us to “keep” the commandments…
What???? you say..
The Bible tells us very plainly that the Law was given to show us we are sinners… not for us to keep the Law so we would not be sinners!! …We are sinners, God knew this from the beginning and from the beginning and IN the beginning God had a remedy, a cure for our sin problem..! He made Himself a body, a body like ours … but without sin. Do you see that in verse 3..? Remember.. the Word was with God in the beginning.. ref. John 1:1-14.??
OK, …Time for you to “Explore” on your own… Sorry, I have learned that unless you get it for yourself, you do not get it at all..! “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word Of God” not my words, God’s Word and His name is Jesus… Hear Him…

You see, the only Power sin ever had over us was to condemn us and tell us we were/are not worthy to be Loved by Our Father… God came to us in the Body of His Son Jesus… and proved that, “that was A LIE”… Jesus took on Himself every sin ever committed by every man, woman and child ever born under the LAW and who will ever be born on this fallen earth!!! …and He died just like the LAW required… “BUT” .. Jesus did not stay Dead… No, the “Penalty of Death” required by the Law could NOT keep Him in the GRAVE, and my friends… It cannot keep you in the GRAVE either once you understand THE LOVE and FORGIVENESS that really happened at the Cross and at the RESURRECTION…
I love the Bible, I love the Scriptures.. but sometimes we spend way too much time on some of them …and far TOO little time on others.
My prayer TODAY is that you will become curious and courageous enough to dive into the Scriptures for yourself and discover just how LOVED and FORGIVEN we all really are! …forever and ever…. Amen!
Love in Him!
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to be patient. 4 And patients develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady. 5 Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
When we were utterly helpless, with no way of escape, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners who had no use for him. 7 Even if we were good, we really wouldn’t expect anyone to die for us, though, of course, that might be barely possible. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since by his blood he did all this for us as sinners, how much more will he do for us now that he has declared us NOT guilty? Now he will save us from all of God’s wrath to come. 10 And since, when we were his enemies, we were brought back to God by the death of his Son, what blessings he must have for us now that we are his friends and he is living within us!
