Sin in the House? (2)Posted: September 13, 2013
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” — Genesis 4:6-7
I wanted to expound just a bit on my post yesterday “Sin in the House?”… I hope you don’t mind, because sin is a very much misunderstood subject today.. I cannot really explain it, except to say; It is a mysterious force which seeks to destroy God’s children. In fact, Sin seeks to destroy all of God’s creation..!
Sometimes I am misunderstood as being “light” on sin and that is definitely not the case.. Sin Kills as the picture above makes clear. ..No, I am not light on sin, however I believe we as Christians and society as a whole.. have a wrong definition of what sin is.. and this misconception often leads us into “Judging” others as well as ourselves too harshly. …So, I guess I would say; “Do not take sin lightly but lighten up on those who do it” … Confused yet?? … Good.!..?
Confusion is good at times, when and if we determine to eliminate it. Confusion can be “overcome” just like “sin” can be overcome… How??? ..By experience that’s how. Don’t get me wrong… I am not endorsing “sin or confusion in this post” … I am simply saying both happen and both happen much too frequently! …When they do happen “WE” should make and take the effort to understand and to eliminate them.
Do you agree??
Let’s try this another way.. We will sin because we are all sinners… we will be confused at times because we sin, …and when we do and when we are, we need to get into the process of elimination.. trying to remove the things in our lives that are causing us our problems and confusion. We do not have to undertake these tasks alone.. we have the Holy Spirit inside us to guide us.. and He will do an excellent job of it …when we are ready to yield and submit to His leadership. He is our conscience so to speak, BUT He is also God in us to save us from things that seek to destroy us… get it ?? The Holy Spirit is MUCH more than our conscience, but He works through our “Conscience Experiences” to teach us to distinguish between good and evil… and to avoid the evil and hold on to what is good… Do you see??
Now that I have you and me totally confused I will close and give us ALL WEEKEND to ponder over this matter!
I will however leave you with the “Thoughts” also of Mr. Oswald Chambers, who wrote long ago on the same subject… Maybe he will be less confusing than I…? I surely hope so.!!!
Love in Him!

This is your hour, and the power of darkness —Luke 22:53
Not being reconciled to the fact of sin— not recognizing it and refusing to deal with it— produces all the disasters in life. You may talk about the lofty virtues of human nature, but there is something in human nature that will mockingly laugh in the face of every principle you have. If you refuse to agree with the fact that there is wickedness and selfishness, something downright hateful and wrong, in human beings, when it attacks your life, instead of reconciling yourself to it, you will compromise with it and say that it is of no use to battle against it. Have you taken this “hour, and the power of darkness” into account, or do you have a view of yourself which includes no recognition of sin whatsoever? In your human relationships and friendships, have you reconciled yourself to the fact of sin? If not, just around the next corner you will find yourself trapped and you will compromise with it. But if you will reconcile yourself to the fact of sin, you will realize the danger immediately and say, “Yes, I see what this sin would mean.” The recognition of sin does not destroy the basis of friendship— it simply establishes a mutual respect for the fact that the basis of sinful life is disastrous. Always beware of any assessment of life which does not recognize the fact that there is sin.
Jesus Christ never trusted human nature, yet He was never cynical nor suspicious, because He had absolute trust in what He could do for human nature. The pure man or woman is the one who is shielded from harm, not the innocent person. The so-called innocent man or woman is never safe. Men and women have no business trying to be innocent; God demands that they be pure and virtuous. Innocence is the characteristic of a child. Any person is deserving of blame if he is unwilling to reconcile himself to the fact of sin.
New International Version (NIV)
20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Righteousness Through Faith
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in[a] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

I will allow you to decide for yourself whether or not it is “faith in” or “faithfulness of Jesus Christ…?
It can mean and make ALL the difference in your Confusion at times… Happy Weekend !!!
