Random Rambling…

I have been doing a good bit of listening the last few months instead of writing or speaking. Following are thoughts I have found helpful to me and I hope and pray you will find them helpful to you as well.

~Freed to Follow~ is just a tag, so to speak, and not the official title of anything I know of. These thoughts are my thoughts and are not copied from a book, however if someone would like to assemble them and write a book, I think that would be grand. ..Enjoy!

If we truly understood our Father’s passion for His creatures and His creation, we would all be cheering one another along, instead of hoping for the demise of our enemies!
If there are no unsaved people, ..only unknowing ones; would this change how you view others?~Freed to Follow~

We are all exactly where we are supposed to be today in our walk with God, but none of us are where we will be tomorrow with Him, if we are truly following Jesus! We will forever be growing deeper, stronger and more powerful in His almighty love for us and all of His creation and this should be impacting how we relate to God as well as our fellows on a day to day basis..       ~Freed to Follow~

There is always more room for wisdom in the wise, as there is never enough room for wisdom in those who know already!

Having a personal relationship with Jesus is very important but, just as important is what the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus did, to forever change the fate of all humanity. While we all need to know Jesus on a personal level, this is only the beginning of a new individual awakening into an eternal, global and universal plan for all humanity and all of creation for all time. ~Freed to Follow~

The “Life of God” is never changing but forever changing us! ..If you do not know God differently today than you did several years back, then it is likely you do not know Him at all ..but only know of Him!
The “Life of God” in you and in I, should always be growing and changing what we know and believe about Him as well as how we follow in His footsteps!
The “Life of God” in us, should constantly be increasing our vision and broadening our horizons…  ~Freed to Follow~

There are many today who learn about Jesus by reading of Him. They believe they know Him by what He said and did according to what is written about Him. ..This is good, BUT, Jesus said “..Learn FROM me..” not, learn about me!

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
–Matthew 11:29 (NIV)

Many have another step to go ..a BIG step!
~Freed to Follow~

There are always a multitude of opinions, but only one truth. There are many opinions of the truth, yet only one truth remains. There are many things that are true but are not the truth.
Jesus is the Truth, the only truth!
Don’t be fooled by things that are true, but are not the truth, ask Jesus because His Truth will always set you free… ~Freed to Follow~

The New Testament is not the second part of the Old Testament. The New Covenant is not an addition to The Old Covenant. The Old Covenant was a legal agreement between God and Israel, depending on Israel’s obedience, in order to be blessed by God. The New Covenant is an agreement between God and the Son of God and is based on the obedience of Christ in order for the whole world to be blessed. So, ..if you choose to remain under the Old Covenant, you must obey all the requirements of the law in order to be blessed ..but if you choose the New Covenant you will be blessed by the obedience of Christ to the law. ..If you choose to remain between the two covenants, you will still be blessed by the obedience of Christ to the law ..but you will be tempted to believe it is your obedience to the law that is causing your blessings. ~Freed to Follow~

Merry Christmas?

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me…”

–Matthew 28:18

As the great debate begins again between the authority of Jesus and the authority of St. Nick during the Christmas season, I think the verse above clearly states Who the Victor is…

Maybe a better question would be; If Jesus is allowing Santa to also speak during this time, what is he saying that we should be hearing?
I know neither of them promote war and violence and both of them promote love, joy, peace and giving…

No, I do not give them equal status but Jesus don’t share the stage with just anybody, ya know?

~Just my thoughts, yours may be different… That’s Ok.~

Love in Him!

A Psalm for All…

This is one of my favorite Psalms. It has something that applies to everyone, everywhere at sometime in their Life. If you have not yet faced any of the situations, circumstances or trails listed in these passages… just hold on, your time is coming!

God is faithful and He uses all the sad times, bad times and glad times that Life is made up of, to prove His love and His faithfulness to his children…

You are one of His children…  If you do not know that yet, let me be the first to tell you!

You may be away from home right now or you may deliberately be heading in the opposite direction from your destination, but you are still His child and He wants you to know that…

Please don’t be one who has to keep silent in the end; be one who shouts praises to the love, graciousness and faithfulness of Our Father…

Love in Him!

~ Psalm 107~

1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle.
5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.
6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
7 He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.
8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

10 Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains,
11 because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High.
12 So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
14 He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.
15 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
16 for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.

17 Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
18 They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death.
19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
20 He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
21 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
22 Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.

23 Some went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters.
24 They saw the works of the Lord, his wonderful deeds in the deep.
25 For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves.
26 They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away.
27 They reeled and staggered like drunkards; they were at their wits’ end.

28 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
29 He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
30 They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.
31 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
32 Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.

33 He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,
34 and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.
35 He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;
36 there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.
37 They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest; 38 he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish.

39 Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow;
40 he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste.

41 But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.
42 The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.

43 Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the Lord.

My Utmost for His Highest — Oswald Chambers

Justification by Faith

October 28, 2013

If when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life —Romans 5:10

I am not saved by believing— I simply realize I am saved by believing. And it is not repentance that saves me— repentance is only the sign that I realize what God has done through Christ Jesus. The danger here is putting the emphasis on the effect, instead of on the cause. Is it my obedience, consecration, and dedication that make me right with God? It is never that! I am made right with God because, prior to all of that, Christ died. When I turn to God and by belief accept what God reveals, the miraculous atonement by the Cross of Christ instantly places me into a right relationship with God. And as a result of the supernatural miracle of God’s grace I stand justified, not because I am sorry for my sin, or because I have repented, but because of what Jesus has done. The Spirit of God brings justification with a shattering, radiant light, and I know that I am saved, even though I don’t know how it was accomplished.

The salvation that comes from God is not based on human logic, but on the sacrificial death of Jesus. We can be born again solely because of the atonement of our Lord. Sinful men and women can be changed into new creations, not through their repentance or their belief, but through the wonderful work of God in Christ Jesus which preceded all of our experience (see 2 Corinthians 5:17-19). The unconquerable safety of justification and sanctification is God Himself. We do not have to accomplish these things ourselves— they have been accomplished through the atonement of the Cross of Christ. The supernatural becomes natural to us through the miracle of God, and there is the realization of what Jesus Christ has already done— “It is finished!” (John 19:30).

“Repent and ask to be saved and forgiven…then by your obedience to the laws of Christ, prove your salvation…”

These are some of the most misinterpreted, misapplied and misunderstood principles in the modern day Church in America. I will leave it to you to do your own investigation into where, how and when these misgivings entered into our modern day doctrines and theologies. Oswald Chambers wrote prior to and in the beginning of our modern evangelical movement in the Christian Church today.

Please read what Mr. Chambers wrote carefully and prayerfully. He disputes most, if not all of our modern day qualifications for salvation. AND remember, Jesus is the Salvation of God!

Free Will?… No Way in the World

Genesis 2:17

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
How many of you chose to be born into a fallen world with a sin nature that seeks to destroy you and all of God’s creatures?
The modern Church in America has confused ‘freedom of choice’ with ‘free will’ and this is a fairly ignorant stance to take. ‘Free will’ would include the ability to do wrong and sin against God, yourself and others with no adverse penalties or circumstances.
In order for a person to possess free will, his or her will must prevail over all other wills in divinity or humanity, therefore only one could truly possess free will and all others would be subjected to that one will.. This is absurd and goes against all that the Bible teaches!

There is ONE with “Free Will” and He freely willed to give His Life as a ransom for all!

God gives us the freedom to choose between good and evil but our choices and the consequences of those choices are all part of HIS WILL and HIS PLAN…

Praise Him… the ONE who wills that none should perish!
Love In Him!

1 Timothy 2:5-7

New International Version (NIV)

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.

Going out of Business Temporarily

Just Thinking will be going out of business for awhile…

The Bible tells us to give, and it will be given to us.

..I hope I have given enough for you to think about for awhile..

If you read or glance at my post and the images are gone, I do not know why?

I must stay focused on what is important and that is what God is saying in His world today.

Hopefully I will return soon with new insights.

I will leave you with ONE thought,

Are Christians really all that different from the world?

Think about that!!!

Love in Him!

Until the Church gets out from under the burden and guilt of sin, she will never be effective in the world today. The world is looking for a refuge from sin, not a reminder of it!!…

The true Gospel is the good news that Jesus has revealed God, the true God to mankind. The Gospels are the good news Jesus revealed according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul. The whole Bible is the Scriptures.. The Gospel is the Good News about Jesus in those Scriptures.. Everything in the Scriptures is not Good News and therefore is not the Gospel… All the Good News in the Scriptures is the Gospel and that’s the truth
Jesus is the truth, the way and the Life…

Marcus McCord
“Why could we not cast it out?” (Mark 9:28)
We can remain powerless forever, as the disciples were in this situation, by trying to do God’s work without concentrating on His power, and by following instead the ideas that we draw from our own nature. We actually slander and dishonor God by our very eagerness to serve Him without knowing Him.
We cannot work for God.. unless God is working for us.. Just because we claim to be doing something for Jesus doesn’t mean it is something Jesus would do! We are called to do the same things that Jesus did even greater… not to do different things for Him!
Is there a difference?
You decide
Many of us have come to Jesus based on denominational and theological understanding of the Scriptures. We have been immersed not only in water but also steeped in Church traditions, ceremonial practices, doctrine and dogma, procedures, methods, biblical instruction and so forth and so on; but Jesus has never spoken to us and said “Come”
We are still trying to get to Jesus through weariness and heavy burdens, straining at the yoke of religion. When we are ready to hear Jesus’ “Come” we will also be ready to lay all these other ways down and simply come just as we are, wherever we may be…
Only those with huge self interests would be upset by the Church’s expansion outside the walls of their buildings and structures, institutions and organizations.
Religion cannot tolerate freedom…

The Highest Calling…is yours

Jesus came for this very High Calling.. to show a lost, sin focused, ashamed, disgraced, guilt-ridden, fallen Bride (humanity) the Agape Gracious Love of her Creator, Father, Savior, King and Husband.

Jesus came to show us God so we can show Him to those who do not yet know how much He misses them.!!

His Bride is a Pure and Spotless Bride… Her Husband has taken care of that. He has a Beautiful White Garment waiting for Her when She is prepared to meet Him!

How are you loving HIS Lost ones today??
